May is Military Appreciation Month.

And one thing I’ve always believed is this:

Military families already possess many of the traits people spend years trying to develop.

Discipline.

Resilience.

Leadership under pressure.

The ability to adapt when circumstances change overnight.

Service members and military spouses live these every day.

Those same skills that carried families through deployments, relocations, transitions, and uncertainty can also become the foundation for business ownership.

I’ve had the privilege of speaking with veterans and military families exploring entrepreneurship, and the common thread is always the same:

They already have the mindset.

Franchise ownership is not simply about owning a business.

It’s about leveraging systems, building assets, creating opportunities, and designing a future with greater control over time and finances.

The mission may change.

The leadership skills do not.

This month, gratitude to all who served—and to the families who served alongside them.
