I recently spoke with a candidate who had spent months researching opportunities.

Every time we found something that fit, there was one small issue.

The territory wasn't perfect.

The industry wasn't perfect.

The timing wasn't perfect.

The investment wasn't perfect.

Eventually, I asked a simple question:

"Do you think the perfect business exists?"

The reality is that every opportunity comes with tradeoffs.

The goal isn't to find perfection.

It's to find alignment.

The people who become successful owners aren't the ones who find perfect businesses.

They're the ones who make good decisions and execute well.
